Telex Airman 8+

The Telex Airman 8+ is a lightweight noise-reducing headset designed specifically for optimizing pilot communications in commercial and business turbine aircraft. Building on the tradition of the Airman 850 and the Airman 8, Airman 8+ has improved ANR capability and comfort. The Airman 8+ is among the lightest Active Noise Reduction headsets on the market and one of only three FAA TSO C-139a approved ANR headsets to utilize Telex’s proprietary battery-free system. Larger pliable ear cushions and headband pad combined with dual axis ear cup pivots provide long flight wearing comfort.

Using the latest in ANR circuitry to target and reduce wind noise in jet cockpits, the Airman 850 provides up to 12 decibels (dB) of noise attenuation between 100 and 2000 Hz. At just four ounces, the headset is the lightest ANR product in the marketplace, and ear cups and cushions have been enlarged from previous models to enhance pilot comfort.  Additional features include a set and forget volume control feature, noise-canceling electret microphone and fully flexible boom.  The Airman 850 dramatically improves the clarity of communication and does not require batteries or panel power—active noise reduction is powered by microphone bias. Telex Airman 750 and 850 headsets are used in more than 70 percent of commercial airframes. The Airman 850 is available for Boeing, Airbus and other airframes and does not require specialized intercom adapters.

The Airman 750 headset is the best-selling lightweight headset in the world. Weighing in at only 3.2 ounces, this headset is standard equipment on more than 70 percent of commercial airframes. The Airman 750 features an amplified noise canceling electret mic for crystal clear voice transmission. A flexible boom allows microphone adjustment to preferred side, and the adjustable stainless steel headband make the Telex Airman 750 comfortable even on the longest flights. The standard Airman 750 is a two-ear headset. Both are FAA TSO C57a & C58a approved.

Telex Air 3100

The Telex Air 3100 is a medium-weight noise-reduction headset with amplified, noise-canceling, electret microphones. The Telex Air3100L is a headphone only and does not have a microphone. They both have a noise reduction rating of 21 dB, and are suitable for use in moderately noisy aircraft. All models feature a unique headband design that distributes ear cushion pressure evenly over the entire ear with no pressure points, unlike conventional designs which apply more pressure on the bottom of the ear than on the top. An added advantage of this design is that the headset folds into an extremely compact shape for storage. The Air3100 headset is approved for aircraft use under FAA TSO’s C57a and C58a. The Air3100L headphone is approved for aircraft use under FAA TSO’s C57a.
